The Chisinau residents celebrate today, October 14, the Day of the City. The program of the holiday prepared by the City Hall opens with laying of flowers and a religious ceremony. Concerts and exhibitions will follow afterward in all the city’s districts, Info-Prim Neo reports. The authorities will lay flowers at the monument to ruler Stephan the Great and Holy at 8.00. A service will be then held at the God’s Birth Cathedral. The official opening of the Day of the City will take place in the square of the God’s Birth Cathedral starting at 11.00. Exhibitions, concerts, cultural-artistic programs will be organized by the district heads’ offices in all the districts throughout the day. Each of the district head’s office will be responsible for the organization of the holiday on certain segments of Stephan the Great Boulevard: Buiucani district head’s office – within Sfatul Tarii and Serghei Lazo streets, Rascani district head’s office – within Mitropolit G. Banulescu-Bodoni and Maria Cebotari streets, Botanica district head’s office – within Pushkin and Mihai Eminescu streets, Ciocana district head’s office – within Mihai Eminescu and Armeneasca streets, and Buiucani district head’s office – within Armeneasca and Ismail streets. A concert by the municipal orchestra of Advahov Brothers, Aura, Geta Voinovan, Olia Tira, Adrian Ursu, Anatol Dumitras, Noroc, Iurie Sadovnic, Akord, Nelly Ciobanu, Catharsis, the national orchestra “Lautarii” conducted by Nicolae Botgros, Vasile Iovu, Lidia Bejenaru, Nicolae Cibotaru, Adriana Ochisanu, Ion Paladi, Ioana Capraru, Nicolae Glib, and Laura Lavric will start in the Great National Assembly Square at 17.00. The invitees of the evening are the Russian band Bravo, Romanian band Fly Project and Romanian singer Stefan Banica Junior. The performance starts at 19.00.
