If household consumers submitted the natural gas readings through the company’s online platforms or these were taken physically by inspectors until May 31, the consumed amounts of gas will be distributed evenly for each day of the month with the aim of determining the daily average. Subsequently, the consumption during May 1-2 will be calculated according to the previous charge, while for May 3-31 – according to the reduced charge, Moldovagaz SA clarified given that the new gas charges entered into force on May 3, IPN reports.
For example, if the total consumption of a household on May 31 was 16 cubic meters, the average daily consumption will be 0.517 cubic meters (16 cubic meters divided by 31 calendar days). For May 1-2, the respective consumer will be billed for 1 cubic meter of gas (0.517 cubic meters multiplied by 2 calendar days) at the previous rate. Another 15 cubic meters (0.517 cubic meters multiplied by 29 calendar days) will be billed at the new rate.
The calculations are reflected in the bills sent to consumers.
When the inspectors did not have access to the meters or the readings were not submitted by consumers through online platforms and other available tools, the gas distribution enterprises of Moldovagaz group will apply the analytical (forecasted) distribution, based on the consumption of natural gas in the comparable period of previous years, with their subsequent adjustment.
In case of questions related to natural gas billing in May 2024, consumers can call the single telephone number 1304 (1305 in the case of the capital city) or can send a petition through the “Personal Consumer Cabinet” service available on the supplier’s website
At the beginning of May, the National Agency for Energy Regulation approved lower natural gas charges. Thus, household consumers and some of the non-household customers connected to low-pressure networks since then have paid a charge of 12,154 lei per thousand cubic meters (12.1 lei/m3).
