Coach Dobrovolski hopeful ahead of qualifiers
Moldova manager Igor Dobrovolski is hopeful ahead of the upcoming qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup. “I am pleased that all the players realize the importance of these matches”, the coach told a news conference on Friday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Commenting on the preparations for the home matches against Luxembourg (Sept. 5) and Greece (Sept. 9), Dobrovolski said: “the atmosphere among the squad is great. Of 21 players at my disposal, only Alexandru Epureanu is injured, while Victor Bulat is going to be suspended for the first match”.
However, the manager criticized again the ‘unfair attitude’ of the footballers Sergei Covalciuc, Stanislav Ivanov and Sergiu Dadu, who refused his call-up.
“Covalciuc didn’t come because he said he had to concentrate on the trainings at his club. Ivanov refused the invitation because of some arguments with his manager, and Dadu explained his absence saying his club had some important fixtures in their championship. I really don’t understand those players (...) We really don’t need them”, fumed Dobrovolski.
