An ongoing Code Amber hydrological drought alert covering a large part of Moldova has been upgraded to Code Orange in the basins of the rivers Raut, Bac, Botna, Cogalnic, Ialpug and Cahul. The alert will remain in place until August 26.
The Amber Code remains in place in the basins of smaller rivers and bodies of water. The Weather Service is urging the general public and businesses to use water rationally.
An Amber Code alert for a threat of wildfires (Class V) remains in place until August 21.
Temperatures this week are predicted to be around +27..+32 degrees Celsius during the day and +14..+18 degrees Celsius at night.
