The Parliament’s commission on social protection, health and family approved a legislative proposal providing for the compensation of medical devices with money from the mandatory health insurance funds, such as test strips/lancets for measuring blood glucose, breast exo-prostheses and stoma bags, IPN reports.
Under the bill, a profit margin of up to 15% of the purchase price declared by the supplier of medical devices will be put on compensated medical devices in ambulatory conditions.
The bill is to be debated in Parliament. If it is adopted, during six months of its publication in the Official Gazette, the Government will adjust its normative documents to the new provisions.
