Compensations for heat are not taxable, Government specifies
The social compensations for heat provided in winter are not taxable, Prime Minister Vlad Filat's spokesman Igor Volnitski said in a press briefing on Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Igor Volnitski said that the Government makes effort to help the population, while certain political forces are trying to destabilize the situation. Unidentified persons distribute leaflets containing untrue information with the Government's mark, which say that the recipients of compensations should pay a tax on the received sum or they will be fined.
The Government describes these actions as defiance of the law and direct attack on it given that there is used its mark.
“It is a feature typical of a certain political force. It is not hard to predict who is behind this dirty campaign. This party has used only lies and manipulated and misinformed the people in the current election campaign,” Igor Volnitski said.
The monthly compensation for heat of 260 lei, for November and December, is given to pensioners whose monthly income is lower than 900 lei and to socially underprivileged families. According to the Government, 455,000 persons received the compensations to which they are entitled by November 25. There was paid a sum of 118 307 930 lei.
