Local public authorities can apply to take part in the contest to select the locality that will hold the title of “Youth Capital 2025”. For one year, the winning locality will benefit from support in the development of youth policies, including methodological and logistical support in the implementation of youth participation activities, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Education and Research said that in the winning locality, in the course of the next year, a number of activities and events dedicated to young people will be carried out, including the International Youth Day, the small grants program to support the civic initiatives of young people, various events to promote a healthy lifestyle, activities to promote personal and professional development opportunities, etc.

Local public authorities can submit the file until October 28.

“Youth Capital” is a national program developed by the Ministry of Education and Research and implemented by the National Youth Agency. Any locality in the Republic of Moldova, except for the municipality of Chisinau and the localities that held the “Youth Capital” title in the last 3 years, can be designated the Youth Capital, subsequently becoming a development model for other localities in the country.

For the implementation of this program, a total budget of over 1 million lei will be allocated from the state budget.

The Youth Capital 2024 is the municipality of Cahul.
