The Construction Worker’s Day will be celebrated on September 14 and not on the second Sunday of August, as it was until now. The Cabinet approved a decision in this regard on Wednesday, IPN reports.
According to the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spînu, the change was proposed as a result of discussions with companies and social partners in the construction sector, which noted that the second Sunday of August coincides with the period of leave and vacations and with the maximum intensity activity in the sector, which makes it difficult to organize and participate in events dedicated to the holiday.
Likewise, the marking of the holiday on September 14 aligns the Professional Construction Worker’s Day in the Republic of Moldova with the Day of the Construction Worker in Romania, which will enable all the representatives from the field to participate broader and in more organized way due to the close cooperation between companies and employees from this sector from both countries.
