The Federation of Constructors Condrumat is calling on all the employees, managers and owners in the trade to contribute with every means to aid the people affected by the recent floods. Condrumat's Board adopted this appeal at an emergency meeting on Friday. Condrumat chairman Pavel Caba has told Info-Prim Neo the appeal for help evoked sincere empathy among the majority of the constructors that were contacted, despite the fact that the constructions sector experiences a deep economic crisis. “We have decided that we will ask all the fellow constructors to donate our one-day wages to the people affected by the floods”. Additionally, the constructors, as well as other businesses, are encouraged to go to the flood-affected areas after the high waters retreat and assess the damages on the scene in order to consider donations, be it in cash or in kind, or some particular constructions. According to Pavel Caba, the constructors have proven their solidarity on previous occasions, by engaging actively and effectively in flood relief efforts in 2006, 2007, 2008, in various parts of Moldova. “I am confident that this time, too, we will be by the side of these people who endure great distress. It might happen that tomorrow some of us, too, will need help, so it is our obligation to help each other”, said Pavel Caba. Condrumat's chairman added that the Federation supported the Government's relief efforts. “The efforts of the Government are all the more commendable since the Government as well as the businesses are stricken by the financial crisis inherited from the previous government”.
