Consular tax for Moldovan students in Romania annulled
The consular tax of 120 euros that the Moldovan students pay to obtain a permit for staying in Romania was annulled. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Vlad Filat. He and his Romanian counterpart Emil Boc discussed the given issue during a recent meeting in Bucharest, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Filat, the tax was imposed because some functionaries implement the law as they want, not as they should. Filat said at the meeting they also discussed the possibility of annulling the sum of 500 euros that the Moldovan citizens have to present when they want to obtain a visa for Romania.
The Premier did not say what agreement they reached, but said it “was perfect”. “We know exactly what steps we must take and hope this condition will be annulled in a very short period of time,” Vlad Filat said.
