The contest to fill the post of director of the National Anticorruption Center (NAC) was opened on October 19 in connection with the expiration of the term in office of the current director Viorel Chetraru on October 25. This will last for 30 working days, IPN reports.
The regulations on the contest were approved by the Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities on October 18.
The contest is open to persons who have Moldovan nationality and have the domicile in Moldova, have higher education and a length of service of at least ten years, have irreproachable reputation, haven’t been members of political parties during the past two years, haven’t committed offences and know the Romanian language.
The candidates will file the applications to the legal commission for appointments and immunities based at 105 Stefan cel Mare Blvd until November 29.
Viorel Chetraru was appointed director of the Center for Combating Economic Crime and Corruption in November 2009. After the Center was reorganized into the National Anticorruption Center, Chetraru was named director of the NAC by Parliament as a result of a contest in October 2012.
