Contravention cases started over illegal sale of oil products

Seven contravention cases were started by the police over the retailing of oil products from tanks, canisters or other containers and the retailing of the main oil products in other places than authorized filling stations. Those involved face fines of up to 30,000 lei, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the police traced a number of clandestine stations for storing and selling oil products in different districts of the country. They determined that the oil products were sold “on recombination” to consumers for fuelling up their motor vehicles.

The buyers paid a preferential price per liter of fuel, which was lower than at filling stations, and paid cash so that a sales slip or other accounting documents didn’t need to be issued. There were found drafts and sums of money that could not be justified.

As many as 34,700 liters of oil products were discovered in total. The total value of the damage is yet to be determined.
