The criminal case started against a couple from Chisinau over the murder of a woman from Rascani district of the capital city was sent to court, the Prosecutor General’s Office said, quoted by IPN.

The crime was committed on Dimo St last November. A neighbor of the victim and his partner entered the apartment of the 75-year-old woman. They hit the elderly woman with a chair and this died as a result of the sustained injuries.

The offender, aged 53, and his partner of 29 are accused of deliberate murder committed with extreme cruelty and face up to 20 years in jail or life.

The killed woman was the mother of journalist Dmitri Tchiubashenko. Despite the suppositions, the investigation showed the murder has no connection with the journalist’s professional activity.
