Court of Appeals allows holding contest for post of public TV channel director

The Chisinau Court of Appeals on February 15 quashed the February 3 decision whereby the contest for the post of director of the public TV channel Moldova-1 was suspended. Thus, On February 20, the Supervisory Board of the National Public Broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova will elect the new TV channel director, Info-Prim Neo reports. On February 3, the Court of Appeals suspended the holding of the contest at the request of the former director of the TV channel Adela Railean, who appealed the Supervisory Board's decision to dismiss her. The Board's chairman Eugeniu Rybka said the Court of Appeals' decision of February 15 is perfectly legal. The date of the contest was agreed with the judges of the Court. “The contest will take place on February 20, starting at 10.00,” Rybka said. “Twelve candidates applied for the post of director of the public TV channel. These are: Brega Ghenadie, Lavric Aurelian, Grosu Alexandru, Ciubotaru Gheorghe, Grajdean Oleg, Stratan Ecaterina, Josanu Efim, Barsan Gheorghe, Surdu Mircea, Mihailov Mihail, Frumusaki Valeriu, and Sarbu Angela. I'm sure that the Supervisory Board will make a correct decision.” The candidates will be examined during a public meeting at the Radio House on 1 Miorita St. The meeting will be broadcast live on Radio Moldova Muzical (www.trm.md).
