COVID-19 causes five more victims, death toll at 190

Five more persons succumbed to COVID-19 in Moldova. Among those who died is a man aged 38 from Bălți municipality who didn’t suffer from other diseases. The death toll thus rose to 190, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.

The victims also include three men and a woman aged between 52 and 79. The persons are from Chisinau, Ocnița district, Soroca district and Slobozia town.

As many as 269 patients with COVID-19 are in a serious state in the hospital and 21 of them were put on a ventilator. Fifty-two patients got cured and were discharged from the hospital on May 13. The number of persons who recovered now stands at 2,228.

The infections with COVID-19 confirmed in Moldova by now number 5,406. Of those infected, 1,245 are healthcare workers.
