A nurse of the intensive care and anesthesia section of the Cahul District Hospital lost the battle with COVID-19. The woman was 41. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the colleagues and all those who knew her, IPN reports.

COVID-19 also killed a 72-year-old woman from the municipality of Chisinau. The woman was transferred from “Saint Trinity” Municipal Clinical Hospital to the Emergency Medicine Institute on May 5. She suffered from diabetes, chronic kidney diseases and ischemic stroke.

So far, 145 persons died because of COVID-19 in Moldova.

As many as 249 infected persons are in a serious state in the hospital and 29 of them were put on a ventilator.

A number of 89 cured persons were discharged on May 6, taking the number of those who recovered to 1,747.

By date, 1,098 infections among healthcare workers have been confirmed in Moldova, out of the total number of 4,476 cases. Of the total, 555 infections were recorded in the Transnistrian region.
