The COVID-19 infection in June advanced vertiginously in the Republic of Moldova. The number of infected persons rose by 92% on May. In May the infections increased by only 23% on April, says an analytical noted produced by the Association for Participatory Democracy ADEPT, IPN reports.
ADEPT says that regrettably, the rise in the number of new cases of COVID-19 during the last three months wasn’t at least linear, but was rather parabolic. In April, the number of infections exceeded 3,500, of cured persons – 1,200, while of deaths – 110. In May the figures were: over 4,500, 3,300 and 170, while in June: over 8,300, 4,700, and 250.
The rapid growth in the number of infections in June led to a 70% rise in the number of deaths caused by COVID-19 on May.
The number of infected healthcare workers increased almost proportionally to the total number of infections. In March, the infected health professionals totaled 239, in April - 662, in May - 615, while in June - 646.
The good news is that the number of infections decreased considerably during the last three-four days, as did the number of infected health system employees. The number of infected healthcare workers on June 24 stood at 42, while on June 30 at 18.
