Criminal record to be obtained online
The private individuals and legal entities will have the possibility of using four important online services by the end of this year, Stela Mocanu, director of the e-Government Center, said in a program on Radio Moldova, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The ordinary people and businessmen will be able to obtain a legal record and license for performing certain kinds of entrepreneurial activities. The third service allows transmitting online information about the number of employees of a company to the National Health Insurance Company. The fourth service represents a database of all the documents and forms that need to be filled out and submitted for obtaining construction authorizations. The people and representatives of the business community are now being consulted about these services that will be implemented next year.
The services are being digitalized with the support of the World Bank’s US$20,000 e-Government Transformation Project. “This project was approved last April for a five-year period. We needed over a year to work out the project. Meanwhile, the document was ratified by the Parliament of Moldova. The four electronic services that are to be launched this year are the first financed within the WB project,” said Stela Mocanu.
The Government’s contribution from the budget fund “Electronic Moldova” totals 12.4 million lei. The money will be used to implement several smaller, but very important projects. Among them is a project concerning the electronic circuit of documents at governmental level. The system will enable the ministries and other public authorities to communicate between them when examining bills and Government Decisions. The aim is to exclude the paper documents from the communication process as they require time and money.
“The second project on which we are working together with specialists of the Ministry of Finance is the e-procurement project, which will optimize the use of budgetary resources and increase transparency in the public procurement process,” said Stela Mocanu.
The e-Government Center was created last August by a Government Decision. Its aims are to implement modern information technology, facilitate communication between the state institutions and the people, ensure greater transparency in governance, and involve the ordinary people and businessmen in decision making.
