Companies that have a digital signature and are connected to the customs information system can submit a export statement electronically, during seven minutes, from today, November 15.
Customs Service director general Tudor Balitski told a news conference that by eliminating paper documents and switching over to electronic processing of export transactions, the Customs Service enables the exporters to become more competitive on the foreign markets by reducing the clearance time and the costs associated with the exports of national products, IPN reports.
Deputy head of the Incomes and Customs Control Department Tudor Dabija said the electronic clearance service on the export of goods can be used only through digital signature, which can be obtained from the Special Telecommunications Center. After the information in electronic format is validated, the goods can be transported over the border.
Attending the launch of the electronic clearance service, the representative of a company said that until now they submitted by up to 10 export statements a day, but now hope that the figure will rise to 25.
According to the Customs Service’s estimates, from next year 30% of the customs statements will be filled out electronically.
