The Cyber Security Month began in the Government on October 1 with a debate on the methods of protecting the people using the Internet from cyber risks. The event is aimed at promoting and ensuring the security of information in the context of the technological modernization of the executive, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the ICT Ministry.
“The identify thefts and online frauds expand. The Ministry’s strategic document - Digital Moldova 2020 - contains an important chapter centering on the creation of conditions for increasing the security level and the people’s confidence in the digital space. Therefore, there were planned a number of actions, including toughening up of the legislation, increasing of the level of cyber security of infrastructure and of the information degree about the existing risks,” said ICT Minister Pavel Filip.
The Cyber Security Month in the Government is held for the second consecutive year. It was timed to coincide with the European Cyber Security Month. In October, there will be staged roundtable meetings, workshops, and conferences on increased security in the digital space. They will involve public servants, IT specialists from the public and private sector, and representatives of civil society.
