Dacia sign English player
Dacia Chisinau signed two new players before the new national football championship – the skilled English halfback Rohan Ricketts and Belorussian striker Vitali Ledenev, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Ricketts, 27, is a valuable player for the National Division. He is a pupil of the football school Arsenal London. He had played for such English teams as Tottenham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Quuens Park Rangers, and Barnsley. During the last two years, he performed in the U.S. for FC Toronto and then in Hungary for Disgyor.
In an interview for the official website of the club, Rohan Ricketts said he does not regret coming to Moldova and will try to help Dacia beat Sheriff and won the title of champion.
Vitali Ledenev, 31, played for teams from Belarus, Azerbaijan, Israel and Armenia. For many years, he defended the colors of Belarus' U-21 team.
Both of the players are waiting for the documents allowing them to work in Moldova. They will make their debut for Dacia in the second stage on August 1, when they will play FC Costuleni.
As Dacia did not have a good striker, they were eliminated from the second Europa League qualifying round by Sweden's Kalmar.
