A deaf and speech-impaired woman was violently hit by a car while she was crossing the street. The impact was so powerful that the woman died on the spot. Her body was dismembered. The accident happened on Dacia Blvd. in Chisinau this morning. The driver left the scene. On Sunday, a 20-year-old woman died after falling from the ninth floor of an apartment building located on Ion Creanga Street. An investigation is under way. On the same day, an unidentified woman in her 50s was found on the street in alcoholic coma, while a 25-year-old man cut his veins. A man aged 43 was taken to hospital with knife wounds in his forearms. His son stabbed him during a family quarrel. Anatol Proca said that a new suspect A (H1N1) flu case was reported on Saturday. The virus was detected in a 16-year-old girl from Grigoriopol, who has recently returned from the U.S., where she participated in a contest. A Romanian young man, who formed part of the same group as the Moldovan girl, also got infected.
