Deaths from COVID-19 exceed 300,000 globally

COVID-19 by May 15 caused over 300,000 deaths worldwide. The largest number of deaths occurred in the United States - 86,900, IPN reports.

In the UK, the death toll exceeded 33,600. In Italy the casualties rose to 31,300, while in France and Spain stand at 27,400 and 27,300, respectively.

As many as 5,317 persons confirmed with COVID-19 lost the battle with the disease on May 14: 1,715 in the U.S., 835 in Brazil, 428 in the UK, 351 in France, 294 in Mexico.

A number of 5,553 infections with COVID-19 were confirmed in Moldova by now, with 194 of those infected succumbing to the disease.
