December 1 march to be staged in Chisinau
The initiative groups ”Spirit Romanesc” (“Romanian Spirit”) and ”Desteptearea” (“Awakening”) will mount a march in Chisinau on Romanian’s National Day marked on December 1, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the organizers, the march will begin at 4pm. The column will set off from the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, go along Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Blvd. and stop in the square of the National Opera House, where there will be given a concert to celebrate the National Day of all Romanians, it is said in the communiqué.
“We do not want to dispute the sovereignty of this state, but only to remind those who consider themselves Romanians of the significance of the day of December 1,” said representatives of the two apolitical initiative groups.
”Spirit Romanesc” and ”Desteptearea” launched campaigns to commemorate the persons who fought in the armed conflict on the Nistru River and organize public events aimed at promoting the Romanian language and Romanian ideals.
