The depositors of Banca de Economii (formerly Sberbank) born before 1926 inclusive will be able to take back the deposited money within the second refunding stage from February 25, if they submitted relevant applications by February 1, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Finance, the deposits are refunded at the subdivisions of Banca de Economii.
Also, the depositors of Banca de Economii born before 1991 inclusive can continue to receive the money given back within the first stage.
After the Moldovan leu was introduced on November 29, 1993 and the prices were liberalized, the population’s savings decreased in value over 1,000 times. At the first stage, the depositors are refunded the first 1,000 lei at a ratio of 1 leu : 1 Soviet ruble. The remaining deposited sum is refunded at a ratio of 1 : 2.5.
