Director of Medication Agency dismissed

The Government Thursday dismissed the director of the Medication Agency Nicolae Onilov. He will be replaced by Maria Cojocaru Toma, who served as the Agency's first vice director until now, Info-Prim Neo reports. Prime Minister Vlad Filat said with regret that the Government during a year did not manage to remove the fraudulent schemes created on the drugs market by the Communist administration during eight years, when the relatives of senior officials dictated the rules on this market and the prices of medications were exaggeratedly increased. “The persons who took over the Medication Agency did not take the necessary measures in order to normalize the situation,” Vlad Filat said, explaining why Nicolae Onilov was discharged. The Premier instructed the head of the Anticorruption Center Viorel Chetraru to penalize the Center's employees who failed to inspect the drugs market in accordance with the requirements laid down by the Government. In another development, Vlad Filat ordered the Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Anatol Salaru to present detailed information about the construction of the Cimislia road section following violations identified by people and inspection bodies in the implementation of this project.
