Anticorruption officers arrested the director of a Chisinau taxi company on suspicion of traffic of influence. He is held in the remand unit of the National Anticorruption Center. The person who denounced him informed that the man asked €400 from him, saying he can influence employees of the National Patrolling Inspectorate to annul the penalty points and the offenses committed by him, IPN reports.

According to the Center, the €400 was found in the pocket of the suspect’s pants. The man yielded the money up voluntarily to the anticorruption officers. Initially, he will be under arrest for 72 hours.

The taxi company director faces a fine of 10,000 to 30,000 lei or up to five years in jail.
