Disabled students from Moldova to get assistance from Holland

The Dutch Foreign Minister will support the fair access of disabled to Moldovan universities through a project worth 400,000 euros, Info-Prim Neo reports. The project will be implemented from 2008 to 2011 by the Asociation of Disabled Students ”Gaudeamus” from Moldova in partnership with “One Europe Foundation” from the Netherlands. The project will analyze the state of the Moldovan disabled students in relations with their peers from Holland. It also aims to organize a series of activities, including round-tables, workshops for various social categories, three public-awareness media campaigns, fact-finding trips to EU countries. The project is funded through the so-called Matra Program, pursuing to encourage the transition in the countries from Central and Eastern Europe, including R. Moldova, to build a constitutional state based on pluralism and democracy. The program supports projects dealing human rights, education, public administration, law and order of law, welfare, health and environment protection. The program budget dedicated to Moldova is about 2 million euros.
