Over 130 tourist attractions are featured on a map called “Discover Chisinau 2017”. Launched today, the map includes the most important streets in the city, the public transport grid, an exhaustive list of embassies and consulates, the main access arteries into the city and the nearest towns for each of them.
The attractions were selected based on a survey conducted among Chisinau residents and following expert consultation. These include the Monument to Stephen the Great, the Arch of Triumph, the Great National Assembly Square, and the Circus, to name a few. Other highlights are the tallest building, nicknamed Romanita/Daisy, measuring 70 meters; and the city’s tallest structure, the Television Tower, measuring 196 meters.
Visitors can also find various parks and alleys on the map, as well as a selection of theaters and museums.
Printed in 30,000 copies, the map can be found in kiosks and bookstores selling for 20 lei. It is available in Romanian as well as in Russian and English.
“Discover Chisinau 2017” is a project initiated by the economic and social surveying company iData, which grew into an independent project run by iMaps.
