The General Police Inspectorate (GPI) has launched the operating activities of the DNA laboratory. At the first phase, genetic findings reports in the case of serious crimes will be drawn up, IPN reports.
The laboratory’s employees attended a number of training courses abroad. Initially, they will receive support from their counterparts from Lithuania, who will monitor and guide the work process.
According to the GPI, the DNA laboratory will ensure high accuracy of data, will streamline the work of police officers, will offer the possibility of accumulating accurate and much more complete information, and law enforcement officers will be able to exchange genetic data, if necessary, with counterparts from EU states.
