Doina Cravcenco makes it to 2000m steeplechase final
Moldova's Doina Cravcenco has made it to the final of the 2000m steeplechase competition at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore after finishing fifth in the qualifications on Wednesday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The 17-year-old athlete ran the race in 6 minutes 59' 88'' and is ready to fight for a place on the podium in the final, to take place Monday, August 23.
Another representative of Moldova, Sergei Glushko finished 14th in the javelin throw with a result of 65.57m, which secures a place for him in B final, to take place Sunday, August 22.
Archer Alexandra Mirca will also fight for a medal in after finishing 8th out of 32 in the qualifying round. In the last eight, Alexandra will encounter Australia's Alice Ingley on Friday.
