Donation from Embassy of Germany for Moldovan police

The Embassy of Germany in Chisinau donated 20 alcohol and drug tests to the General Police Inspectorate on April 8. Also, a Mobile Road Safety Center was set up with the Embassy’s support. The Center will enable to learn the traffic rules interactively as it is outfitted with equipment allowing simulating a traffic situation from real life, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Inspectorate.

The Mobile Center is an innovative instrument for the Moldovan police. It is designed to develop intelligent skills among the future drivers, starting from the preschool age. Through the Center, the police will promote practical skills among children by teaching them the traffic rules.

The project to the value of €145,000 is aimed at assisting the police in its prevention activities, based on the European principles and standards.

Minister of the Interior Alexandru Jizdan said traffic security is one of the Ministry’s and Inspectorate’s priorities, but it is hard to achieve this without appropriate equipment. “The equipment donated today will help to significantly improve the police activities designed to prevent and combat road phenomena and events, including by education and information,” he stated.

During over two years, the Embassy of Germany in Chisinau has supported the continuous development and strengthening of the professional capacities of the national police. In 2014, the German officials donated the first Mobile Prevention Center to the police. Owing to this Center, more than 45,000 children and grownups have been so far informed about their rights and obligations, the methods of cooperating with the police and of accessing police services, etc.
