The youth-friendly health centers - Youth Klinic Moldova (YK) network received protective equipment against the novel coronavirus. In the 41 centers operating in all the districts and municipalities of the country, there were distributed protective gloves, visors, surgical masks and gowns to the total value of over 373,000 lei. The donation was made by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation through the Healthy Generation Project, IPN reports.
“We are very grateful to the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation for offering us the possibility of adjusting the project’s activities so that we help the YK network to adjust itself safely to the pandemic situation, including by purchasing this consignment of protective equipment,” said the head of the National Resource Center of Youth-Friendly Health Services “NEOVITA” Galina Leshko, coordinator of the Healthy Generation Project.
Svetlana Moroz, who heads the YK center “Young People for Young People” of Cimișlia, said all the center’s employees received equipment. “It is substantial support for us. We are very grateful for what we received as a lot of beneficiaries come to the center, especially after April-May, when they refrained from making visits. But the people got used to the pandemic conditions and returned to the personal problems, coming to specialists. This summer, the number of adolescent visitors has increased,” noted Svetlana Moroz.
Tatiana Ivanov, head of the YK Center “DVIJENIE+ ” of Comrat, stated that the equipment was provided at the right time, especially because the number of beneficiaries has increased and many young people returned to the country being forced by the general epidemiological situation.
Ecaterina Sorocan, who manages the YK Center “SALVE” of Edineț, said that the equipment is very necessary, especially when consultations at the place, not online are needed. “The young people can come without masks and gloves and we offer them these,” she stated, noting that all the visits are paid based on appointments so as to avoid crowdedness.
The centers of the national network Youth Klinic Moldova offer specialized assistance to adolescents and young people in solving health and development problems, promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The network has been developed during the last few years owing to the Moldovan-Swiss Project “Healthy Generation – youth-friendly health services” that is financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and implemented by the public association “Health for the Youth” and the National Resource Center of Youth-Friendly Health Services “NEOVITA” in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
