An accident in a water pipe left thousands of consumers in Chisinau's Rascani district and suburbs without running water. Dorina Cruc, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, told Info-Prim Neo that the accident happened on the territory of a company situated on Socoleni St on Monday evening. The concrete pipe cracked owing to its worn condition. As a result, the supply of water to a medical center, a kindergarten and a number of schools in Rascani district was stopped. More than 2,000 household consumers in the district and in Hulboaca and Gratiesti villages remained without running water. Five special units of transport are working to remove the faults. Specialists warn when the supply is resumed the water can be unclean and one should avoid using it for a period.
