Draft National Integrity and Anticorruption Strategy for 2017-2020 approved

The Government approved the draft National Integrity and Anticorruption Strategy for 2017-2020, with corruption fighting being one of the priorities included in the executive’s plan of action, IPN reports.

The strategy contains six objectives aimed at discouraging involvement in acts of corruption, recovering assets obtained through corruption, ensuring ethics and integrity in the public, private and nongovernmental sectors, protecting the victims of corruption, ensuring transparency in public institutions and at educating society and functionaries.

The document invokes the world tendencies in addressing corruption and changing the paradigm: from anticorruption to the creation and strengthening an integrity climate in society, the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN being the most relevant in this regard.

There was also approved the plans of action for implementing the pillars of the National Integrity and Anticorruption Strategy for 2017-2020 and the method of assessing the strategy’s impact.

The document is to be submitted to Parliament for consideration.
