A conscripted soldier died on Thursday at one of the National Army’s shooting ranges. The Ministry of Defense said that, according to the preliminary results of the investigation, the young man committed suicide shooting himself, IPN reports.

According to the Operational Command Center, the incident took place at around noon, during training. The doctors who arrived at the scene stated the conscript’s death.

The Ministry of Defense noted that it informed the responsible bodies and sent all the materials related to this case to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Simultaneously, a special commission of the National Army is conducting an internal inquiry to determine the circumstances of the incident. The identity of the soldier will be announced after his family is informed about the incident.

The soldier was drafted into the army in December 2023.
