The drivers must change the summer tires for winter tires during about two weeks. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Traffic Police Division press officer Aurelia Mija said the drivers are obliged to use winter tires from December 1 until March 1, Info-Prim Neo reports. The drivers who will not comply will be fined. “All the drivers must understand that this is a matter of safety on the roads,” said Aurelia Mija. The drivers who will continue to travel with summer tires will be fined 100 to 200 lei from December 1. Though the law does not oblige the drivers to have snow removal tools in the trunk, the traffic police recommend carrying such tools in the vehicles. The drivers must travel with the lights on during the day between November 1 and March 31. It is a move aimed at preventing traffic accidents.
