Moldovan citizens in Spain will be able to convert their driving licenses issued in Moldova, as Spaniards residing in Moldova will be able to do the same, after the Moldovan Parliament ratified the Agreement on mutual recognition and conversion of national driving licenses.

Citizens of both Moldova and Spain will have the right to convert their driving licenses provided that they comply with the administrative formalities established by the normative documents of both states. According to the authorities, this agreement will benefit over 18 thousand Moldovan citizens residing in the Kingdom of Spain.

To date, Moldova has concluded similar agreements with three other states: Lithuania, Turkey, and Italy. Also, a joint statement of intent was signed between the Moldovan Interior Ministry and Germany’s Federal Ministry of Digital Development and Transport regarding the procedural aspects for the transcription of driving licenses.
