The police have discovered drugs in a parcel of food for a prisoners of Penitentiary 17 from Rezina, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communique by the Penitentiary Institutions Department, on December 30, a 24-year-old man requested the penitentiary administration to receive a parcel for a 23-year-old prisoner.
As the parcel was checked up, the administration employees got suspicious about five meat cans with strange signs on them. They discovered there 18 balloons with plants similar to marijuana weighing 300 grams.
The police is to consider whether to start penal proceedings concerning this case. It's the sixth attempt to introduce drugs in jails for the last two weeks.
On the eve of the winter holidays, the jail administrations check up the parcels for inmates more thoroughly. From December 22 to 29, they found 88 cutting objects, 85 spongy objects, some 500 liters of alcoholic drinks 45 mobile phones in parcels.
