Dry lake in Sărata Galbenă to be revitalized

The lake in Sărata Galbenă village in Hancesti district, which dried up more than 10 years ago, will be revitalized. A sum of 15 million lei will be allocated from the Environmental Fund for cleaning and restoring this lake that is 9.4 hectares in area, IPN reports.

In addition to the rehabilitation of the lake, the project will also include the laying out of a park, thus offering the local community a renewed and attractive natural space.

The Ministry of Environment encourages all the mayors to follow this example and design technical projects for the unclogging of rivers in their areas. The mayor’s offices are invited to submit the files for the next call for funding from the Environmental Fund, managed by the National Office for the Implementation of Environmental Projects.

Last week, the Ministry of Environment announced the allocation of 17 million lei for the revitalization of the Cubolta River in Plop village in Donduseni district. In recent years, the river has suffered due to siltation and excessive vegetation growth, which affected its natural appearance and quality.
