Dubarenko becomes semifinalist in Roland Garros
Maxim Dubarenko is the first Moldovan tennis player who took part in the semifinal of a Grand Slam tournament. He competed in the juniors’ doubles in Roland Garros, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In the semifinal, Dubarenko, in pair with Ukraine’s Vladislav Manafov, lost to the Spanish pair Artunedo/Baena, who were the favorites of the competition, by 5-7, 6-3, 8-10.
However, it is the best result achieved by the 17-year-old athlete. In 2011, he participated in the Australian Open and won victories in the international tournaments “Dmitrie Sturza” (Chisinau) and "Citta' Di Santa Croce" (Italy).
In the juniors’ world rankings, Dubarenko ranks 12th.
