APP about to seize assets of Gările Auto Moderne SRL as company fights back
Representatives of the Agency for Public Property (APP) today appeared at the headquarters of Gările Auto Moderne SRL in a bid to forcibly seize the company’s assets, enforcing an order issued by APP director general on August 12.
APP issues clarifications on bus stations takeover
The Agency for Public Property insists there is no legal ground to prevent the unilateral takeover of public bus stations from Gările Auto Moderne SRL. After the government decided to terminate the public-private partnership, the company took legal action. The bid, however, was rejected by both the district and appellate courts, APP clarified.

Unions, employers propose 6,000 lei minimum salary from 2025
The National Confederation of Trade Unions and the National Confederation of Employers have agreed to propose a minimum monthly salary 6,000 lei beginning on 1 January 2025 in an effort to increase salaries “constantly and in a balanced manner” in the coming years.
Railway employees haven’t been paid since April, as unions ask PM to intervene
The National Confederation of Trade Unions is asking Prime Minister Dorin Recean to intervene and help with salary arrears at the state-run CFM. The national railway operator, says the Confederation, has missed 136 million lei in payments to over 5,000 of its employees since April.
First bond issue on eVMS.md platform scheduled for Sep. 26
The first issue of state securities on eVMS.md, the direct trading marketplace available to individuals, is scheduled for September 26. On September 6, ten days before the start of the subscription period, the Ministry of Finance will notify all users about the upcoming issue.
150,000 families to receive vouchers for energy-efficient appliances
Over the course of the next three years, about 150,000 vulnerable households across the country will receive vouchers of up to 7,000 lei to replace their old appliances with new and energy efficient ones. The value of the vouchers and the selection criteria were approved by the Council of the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED), which is in charge of the program. The budget for the first voucher granting round was approved at 54.5 million lei.

Moldovagaz will continue to buy gas from the state-run Energocom in September as well after the latter won the latest auction held on the BRM EST platform.
Government promises 100 million lei to bail out farmers
The Government will earmark 100 million lei from the Agricultural Intervention Fund in the next two weeks to compensate farmers for their losses. Additional resources will also be identified, but long-term solutions need to be found as well. This was discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, with a group of farmers and relevant association representatives.

Cabinet approves tobacco control bill
The Cabinet approved the tobacco control bill which will extend prohibition of smoking in public spaces to include e-cigarettes, among other legislative modifications. However, compared to the original iteration, the bill dropped the prohibition for gas stations, outdoor dining spaces, open and semi-open public spaces where designated smoking areas are set up.
Outstanding salaries at CFM are paid gradually, Daniel Vodă
The authorities, in partnership with the Moldovan Railway (CFM) administration, are looking for solutions to solve the problems related to salary arrears at the company. The Government’s spokesperson Daniel Vodă stated that the salary payment schedule is respected, stressing that the outstanding salaries of the last two-three months are being paid gradually. “It is necessary to speed up this process”, he added.

Over 10,000 unemployed people found jobs since year’s start
Since the beginning of the year, the National Employment Agency has found jobs for more than 10,000 people, a record high for an 8-month period.
Foreign currency demand and supply in July
In July, the net supply of foregn currencies from individuals covered only 89.8% of the net demand from businesses, compared to 103.8% in June, the National Bank of Moldova reported.
Grape production could be down this year by as much as 35%
Grape production this year in Moldova could down by as much as 35% from last year, with yields ranging from 3 to 12 tonnes per hectare. The supply of grapes for processing is estimated at up to 220,000 tonnes, as recommended buying price range is 5-7 lei per kilogram.

New record low for diesel
Standard diesel hit a new low for this, retailing this morning at 20.11 lei/liter. In the last seven weeks, standard diesel has dropped by 1.86 lei/liter or 8.5%.
Electricity bill put up for public consultation
The draft Law on Electricity has been presented for public consultation and is available on particip.gov.md. The Ministry of Energy says the bill is designed to modernize and optimize the electricity sector in Moldova and represents an essential step in the alignment of national legislation with European norms, contributing to our country’s integration into the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity.
Road and air transport drive increase in passenger numbers
In the first 6 months of this year, the number of passengers increased by 5.8% to 141.3 million. The volume of transported goods also increased, by 8.2% to 8.9 million metric tons, the National Bureau of Statistics reported.
