Eco&Green Expo inaugurated in Chisinau

Under the slogan “Green Europe at Home”, the second edition of Eco&Green expo was launched in Chisinau to showcase green technologies.

This year’s novelty is the “Alley of Embassies”, where a number of countries will promote experiences regarding environmental protection, identified solutions and policies in the field.

The participants in the inauguration mentioned that the environment is a priority not only in the European Union, but also in Moldova, and committed to implementing European standards in everything related to environmental protection and quality of life.

Environment Minister Sergiu Lazarencu emphasized the importance of such events in bringing together all those who promote environmentally friendly businesses, green economy and circular economy. With the launch taking place on World Environment Day, the minister urged the general public to protect the environment. “Every action has an impact on the environment and we must make the environment cleaner for the future generations”, the official declared.

In the stands of the approximately 50 participants in the exhibition, from Moldova and abroad, alternative sources of energy, ecological electric vehicles, charging stations, ecological businesses, their crediting will be promoted. “The European Union opens its market for products that comply with certain environmental standards and we as a candidate country want to benefit from the export potential in the largest global market, which is the European Union. We must bring the environmental standards here at home. This is inevitable”, declared Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov.

EU Ambassador to Moldova Janis Mazeiks  noted that the exhibition marks the beginning of the European Green Week and a series of events that will follow in the coming months to raise awareness, stimulate dialogue and promote the search for constructive solutions regarding the use of water resources now and in the future. “Let’s seize this moment to drive the ecological transition with ambition, innovation and determination. Let’s build together a more ecological, clean, healthy and resilient world for the future generations”, said the European diplomat.

Laurențiu-Alexandru Păștinaru, president of the Romanian Environment Agency, assured the Moldovan authorities of Romania’s full support in terms of the country’s integration into the European Union and in the area of ​​environmental legislation.

The exhibition includes a program of seminars, activities to promote eco actions, technologies, products and services. The exhibition will run during June 5-7 at Moldexpo.
