Two weeks before celebrating 15 years of the foundation, the Chisinau-based child home “Saint Joseph” received a donation that significantly improves the living conditions at this institution. The domestic appliances, including washing machines, fridges and boilers, were donated during the visit paid by the Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and All Moldova, His Holiness Vladimir and Archimandrite Petru (Musteata), Bishop of Hancu, Vicar of the Chisinau Metropolitan Church and head of the child home “Saint Joseph”, and the founder of the Edelweiss Foundation Vlad Plahotniuc to this school, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Foundation’s Public Relations Department. “The child home “Saint Joseph” is an example of deep spiritual education. It works well owing to the cooperation with businessman Vlad Plahotniuc. I thank this person for his love for the church. I know that he helps singers, writers, sportspersons and students as well as persons in need. This is a normal thing, blessed by God,” his Holiness Vladimir said during the visit. “I congratulate you on your jubilee. I was deeply impressed by these children because they were able to keep their integrity despite the difficulties they encountered and are now in this holy shelter that is a place of spiritual refuge. I have respect for the educators who offer these children what they need,” said Vlad Plahotniuc. Bishop Petru said that these children need love. “They must see that we are near them. They were abandoned by parents and relatives, but not by God,” he said. The Edelweiss Foundation is a nongovernmental, non-profit and apolitical organization established by businessman Vlad Plahotniuc with the aim of creating equal opportunities for the talented people of Moldova. Its mission is to contribute to the development of society by implementing projects in culture, education, social sphere, economy and environment.
