The school in Grozesti village of Nisporeni district was repaired with the support of the Edelweiss Foundation, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the organization’s Public Relations Department.
According to the communiqué, during the last few months the Foundation reequipped a number of classrooms of the schools, repaired and outfitted the gym. The Foundation considers that the social partnership between the private sector and the education institutions remains often the only chance for the latter to survive and properly educate the new generations.
During a visit to the school in Grozesti, Edelweiss executive director Aneta Serbushka said education is a priority for the Foundation and therefore it will continue to support the education institutions. This year alone, Edelweiss provided over 500,000 lei for repairing the given school and supplying it with furniture and textbooks.
The school’s head Nina Jalba said the support coming from the state is too small and the education institutions have to look for grants and collect money from parents in order to work effectively. She thanked the Foundation for the assistance offered to the school, which has been under the patronage of Edelweiss founder Vlad Plahotniuc since 2005.
The Edelweiss Foundation is a nongovernmental, non-profit and apolitical organization established by businessman Vlad Plahotniuc with the aim of creating equal opportunities for the talented people of Moldova. Its mission is to contribute to the development of society by implementing projects in culture, education, social sphere, economy and environment.
