Eight persons aim to enter Council for Prevention of Discrimination
Eight persons representing civil society filed applications for becoming members of the Council for the Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring of Equality. Their CVs will be examined in public consultations during two weeks, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The applications were submitted by the director of the Resource Center for Human Rights Sergiu Ostaf, lawyer Doina Ioana Straisteanu, jurist Ion Stefan Demian, lawyer Iurie Levinte, the head of the National Roma Center Nicolae Radita, jurist Olesea Perean, jurist and psychologist Oxana Gumennaia, and jurist Veronica Mihailov-Moraru.
The Council will ensure the protection of all the persons who consider themselves victims of discrimination. It consists of five members without political affiliation. They are named by Parliament for a five-year period. Three of them represent civil society.
