The persons with pensions lower than 2,000 lei will receive by 600 lei in financial support from the state. A bill providing this was approved by the Cabinet, IPN reports.

About 553,000 persons will benefit from such aid. Over 400,000 of these receive old-age pensions, while the rest are recipients of disability and successor’s pensions and approximately 600 are service members or members of families of service members.

The lump sum will be provided to pensioners this December. About 335 million lei will be allocated from the state budget for the purpose.
