Chisinau hosts the seventh annual meeting of the Black Sea Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum (BRAF), organized by the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC), which holds the presidency, on September 8-9. This year the meeting centers on election campaign covering and the BRAF member states will exchange good practices in the field, IPN reports.
BCC chairman Dinu Ciocan said this forum is an opportunity for the member states to address particular problems and challenges in broadcasting regulation. “Each meeting discusses a specific them and this year we raised the election theme. The countries will share their own experience in election campaign covering, the way in which they monitor the process, examine complains and impose penalties. This is very important for us because we are in an electoral period prior to the presidential elections,” he stated.
The Broadcasting Coordination Council stages the annual meeting of the Black Sea Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum for the first time. It became a member of the BRAF in 2009, when this organization was constituted, and took over the presidency from the National Radio and Television Commission of Armenia last November. Serbia is the next to take over.
