An integrated administration and control system will be created in Moldova to manage and monitor government interventions in the sector as well as funds from development partners. As a subsystem, the Register of Farmers will be also be created.

According to a project developed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Register of Farmers will be a system for identifying applicants and beneficiaries of government interventions and supportive measures. It will include a systematized totality of infromation on farmers, their organizational form, their assets and other relevant data.

“By creating the Register of Farmers system, the intention is to strengthen the capacity of the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture to apply the principles of good governance in the field of subsidizing agriculture and rural environment; and to improve the management of the resources of the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and the Rural Environment”, the Ministry said.

The system is also designed to increase transparency of resources and get access to relevant data in real time through a dedicated platform.

The project is to be examined at the Government meeting on August 28.
