Embassy of Slovakia offers tonometers and hearing aids to Moldovan patients

A number of socially deprived people with hearing impairments or blood pressure received hearing aids and tonometers within a project implemented in partnership by the Embassy of Slovakia in Moldova, the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, and the public association “Homecare”, IPN reports.

Minster Valentina Buliga said that 50 persons received tonometers, while 15 persons got hearing aids. “It is a small progress in dealing with the multitude of problems faced by our pensioners,” she stated.

“Such projects bring great satisfaction to us. These are real projects that help the people regain dignity and enjoy the same opportunities as the others. It is easy to work with such partners as “Homecare” as all the money we offer is spent very efficiently. We also have good cooperation relations with the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family,” said the Ambassador of Slovakia Robert Kirnag. According to him, the project cost €5,000. This money was offered through the SlovakAid Program. The Embassy of Slovakia in Moldova won 18 of the 60 projects financed through SlovakAid at world level.

“Homecare” director Tamara Adasan said the association started to implemented different projects in partnership with the Embassy of Slovakia in 2010. “We implemented together a lot of projects, including to offer eyeglasses to patients, to ensure palliative treatment for those infected with HIV, to offer tonometers, glucometers and hearing devices. We are very grateful for this aid,” she stated.

The project “Provision of hearing aids and tonometers to socially deprived patients” is financed through the SlovakAid Program and forms part of Slovakia’s Strategy for Development Cooperation with Moldova for 2014-2018.
